The majority of the titles here deal with twentieth-century wars – WW1 and WW2 in particular, and interesting accounts of life in the trenches share space with detailed expositions of individual campaigns and battles, tales of daring escapes from German concentration camps, and a large number of volumes attempting to make sense of the life and career of Adolf Hitler. Sets of historically important volumes are often in stock, such as the Times History of the Great War, a multi-volume contemporary day-by-day account of the battles, full of rare illustrations.
You will also find books about earlier conflicts in Europe and elsewhere around the world, as well as surveys examining the soldier through the ages, and statements from witnesses to all the later cockpits of war, such as Korea, Vietnam, the Falklands and Iraq.
There are also small subsections on weapons and militaria.
Books about war and conflict in Ireland will be found under ‘Irish History’.
